SmawPaw is built so that we know as close to nothing about you as the web allows — and for the pet-sitter handbook, literally nothing leaves your browser.

Your handbook data never leaves your device

Everything you type into the builder — pet details, contacts, notes, photos — is processed and stored only in your own browser (using localStorage). It is never uploaded to our servers. There is no account system and no database of pets. If you clear your browser data, your handbook is gone (that's why the builder offers a backup export).

What our servers do see

The site is served by Cloudflare Workers. Like any web server, it receives standard request data (IP address, browser user-agent, pages requested) to deliver the pages, and Cloudflare may keep short-lived operational logs of that traffic. We don't run analytics scripts, ad trackers or marketing pixels.

SmawPaw Arena leaderboard

If you play SmawPaw Arena, a pseudonymous player record is stored in our database (Cloudflare D1). That record contains: a random device identifier generated in your browser, your chosen display name, your trophy count, your current deck, and your win/loss totals. No email address, no account, and no real name is collected or required. Your display name and trophy count appear on the public leaderboard visible to other players.

To have your record removed, email hello@smawpaw.com with your display name and we will delete it.

Fonts

Pages load the Fredoka and Nunito typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google's font servers. Google states that these requests are not used for tracking, but they are a third-party request — the only one on this site.

Premium license keys

If you buy Premium, the purchase itself is handled by our payment provider (a merchant of record) under their own privacy policy — we never see your card details. When you enter your license key to unlock Premium, the key alone is checked against the payment provider's API and the result is remembered in your browser. We don't store your key or your purchase details on our servers.

Cookies

We don't set cookies. Your handbook and Premium status live in localStorage, which stays on your device and is never transmitted.

Children

SmawPaw is a general-audience tool for pet owners and isn't directed at children under 13.
